Maryland vs. Ohio State Betting Prediction
These two teams played each other in College Park last season. Ohio State won 43-30 but was favored by 25 points and did not cover the spread. This Maryland team is better than last year’s Maryland team, and this year’s Ohio State team doesn’t have C.J. Stroud at QB like last year’s team. The Buckeyes aren’t as good as they were last year, in my opinion. This does not seem like the dominant Buckeyes group of 2022.
Maryland on the other hand still has Taulia Tagovailoa at quarterback and he’s having the best season of his career when it comes to passer rating (160.3). Maryland as a team is 5-0 straight up and they’ve performed well when it comes to several metrics. The Terps are 8th in the country in points per play margin (0.397) and fifth in yards per point margin (11.0). In 2018 Maryland nearly knocked off the Buckeyes, but the Terps ultimately lost 52-51 in overtime. I think this game will more closely resemble that contest than the Ohio State blowouts in 2019 (73-14) and 2021 (66-17). I like the Terps to keep it somewhat competitive in the Horseshoe this Saturday.
