UMass vs. Florida Atlantic Prediction

The 4-1 Florida Atlantic Owls will look to avoid a letdown on Friday night when they host the Massachusetts Minutemen at 8:00 p.m. ET. Listed as 33-point home chalk, will FAU cover that large spread or is the total a better play?

Florida Atlantic redshirt freshman QB Javion Posey completed 10-of-16 passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 18 times for 140 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s 38-13 win over Florida International.

Posey (6’1/195) had just one pass attempt to his name headed into Friday evening. While his passing efforts were not exactly brilliant against FIU, he did well to avoid any interceptions in his first start. Posey was generally making decent, safe decisions, albeit his accuracy wavered a bit. Posey did make his presence known on the ground, though. He also came off the bench as a runner last week, so seeing him excel on the ground again on Friday was no surprise. If Posey can iron things out as a passer just a little bit, FAU’s offense could be in a great spot. The Owls play MTSU in two weeks.

UMass vs. Florida Atlantic Betting Prediction

The over is 6-1 in the Minutemen’s last seven games versus Conference USA rivals, is 5-1 in their last six games played in the month of November and is 7-1 in their last eight games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game. On the other side, the over is 8-2 in the Owls’ last 10 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game.
