Memphis Tigers Game Notes
Memphis redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington caught five passes for 77 yards with two touchdowns in a 41-29 victory over Temple on Saturday. Washington (5’10/170) opened the scoring with a three-yard scoring pass from Brady White in the first quarter, and the two connected again on a 26-yard score in the middle of the third to open the Tigers’ lead to 27-15. The three-star signing has impressed over these last two games, as this strong outing comes after a 7-131-2 line in the win over UCF last Saturday. Washington should be involved again in a marquee contest against Cincinnati on Halloween.
Clemson Tigers Game Notes
Clemson junior QB Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play on Saturday against Boston College. “Trevor has authorized us this evening to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation,” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement Thursday. “He is doing well with mild symptoms but will not be available for this week’s game against Boston College.” The 6-foot-6, 220-pound quarterback is one of the top players in the sport, and is considered not only a favorite for the Heisman Trophy, but also to be the first pick in the 2021 draft. D.J. Uiagalelei or Prince Phommachanh will be under center against the Eagles on Saturday.
