The public betting currently has 65 percent going on Ohio as the home favorite. Ohio gets key road victory
Ohio is coming off a 34-21 win at Ball State on Oct. 26 to hand the Cardinals their first conference loss. The Bobcats are now 4-4 on the season and 3-1 in the MAC, tied for first in the East with Miami. Ohio is 2-6 against the spread and 4-4 with the over/under total.
The Bobcats are putting up 30.4 points and 411.6 yards per game on offense this season. The defense is allowing 29.5 points and 446.6 yards per contest. Nathan Rourke is leading the offense with 1,743 passing yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 536 yards and eight touchdowns. O’Shaan Allison is adding 475 rushing yards and two scores. Isiah Cox is the leading receiver with 24 catches for 407 yards and a score.
Miami heating up
The Miami RedHawks have won their last two games to get to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the MAC East, allowing them to be tied for first in the division. Miami is coming off a 23-16 win at Kent State on Oct. 26. The RedHawks are 4-4 against the spread and 5-3 with the over.
Miami has been riding its defense this year, even though its not anything special. The RedHawks are giving up 33 points and 395.5 yards per game. Offensively, Miami has really struggled. They are putting up just 22.5 points and 298.9 yards per contest. Brett Gabbert has thrown for 1,360 yards and five touchdowns with five interceptions to lead this offense. Tyre Shelton is the leading rusher with 315 yards and a score while Dominique Robinson has caught 13 passes for 290 yards.
College Football Betting Trends
Ohio
The Bobcats are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games following a bye week and 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games.
Miami
The RedHawks have covered the spread in four straight games in November and in six of their last seven conference games.
Prediction:
Miami snapped a five-game losing streak to Ohio last year. The Bobcats are 3-1 against the spread in the last four meetings as well. Miami hasn’t been able to pick up a win at Ohio in over 10 years. This isn’t an easy road game for Miami. The RedHawks have struggled on the road this year despite the win over Kent State two weeks ago. The Miami offense is just too hard to trust. The RedHawks don’t put up a lot of points and don’t travel well. Ohio has had some lulls, but the Bobcats regularly find their way to being a MAC contender. I expect them to stand up at home and earn a win and cover over the RedHawks.
