Miami vs. Pittsburgh Prediction
Are the undefeated Miami Hurricanes a good bet to cover the double-digit spread on Friday afternoon when they visit the Pittsburgh Panthers at 12:00 p.m. ET?
ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Miami. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Hurricanes are 12.5-point road favorites versus the Panthers, who opened as a two-touchdown underdog earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 50 but was bet up to 51.5.

THE PUBLIC LIKES: Miami. As of Friday morning, the Hurricanes were receiving nearly 60% of the tickets.
HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: Miami and the under. The Hurricanes are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four games in Pittsburgh and have covered in five of their last six games overall versus the Panthers. The road team is also 6-1 at the betting window in the last seven meetings between these two teams while the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Pittsburgh.
WHO WE LIKE: Pittsburgh. This play is more fading Miami than following Pittsburgh. The Hurricanes are undefeated but they haven’t played particularly well on the road. They blew out Duke in late September but then needed a last-minute touchdown to beat a bad Florida State team by four in Tallahassee and struggled with an awful North Carolina squad in last November. Now they’ve been at home for three straight weeks and have Clemson on deck in the ACC title game. No thanks today.
The Hurricanes have failed to cover in four of their last five conference games, while the Panthers are 34-15-2 against the number in their last 51 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. Pittsburgh is also 5-2-1 against the spread in its last eight games when facing an opponent with a winning record.
