Miami vs. Texas A&M Prediction & Odds
The sky is falling in College Station. Texas A&M lost at home last week to Appalachian State, 17-14. It was an inexplicable loss and has already put a damper on what was supposed to be a promising year for the 24th-ranked Aggies.
Speaking of promising seasons, #13 Miami seems to be on the upswing. The Hurricanes’ new head man and Miami native Mario Cristobal is a terrific coach and an even better recruiter. Miami has won their first two games in blowout fashion by a combined score of 100-20. If they pull off the upset at Kyle Field on Saturday night, the U might finally be back for real.

Miami Game Notes
It’s worth noting that the Hurricanes will be without their leading receiver, Xavier Restrepo on Saturday. He is out indefinitely with a foot injury. Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will have to rely on wideouts Brashard Smith and Michael Redding III to pick up the slack.
Speaking of Tyler Van Dyke, the Canes’ signal caller will provide them with an advantage at that position on Saturday night. He’s got elite measurables (6’4” 224) and has shown he can produce (2,931 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, 6 interceptions last year). He’ll probably be playing on Sundays in the very near future. This will be the toughest road test of Van Dyke’s career thus far, and how he responds to the challenge will likely determine whether the Canes cover or not.
Texas A&M Game Notes
There’s no way around it, the Aggies’ offense has been straight-up bad this year. They only average 186 yards per game which is an abysmal 127th out of 131 teams. Their offensive ineptitude was on full display against Appalachian State last week. Quarterback Haynes King threw for a measly 97 yards and was sacked twice. The Aggies also lost two fumbles and before they knew it, the Appalachian State Mountaineers were running out the clock and celebrating a monstrous upset win.
The Aggies have speedy playmakers at the skill positions in running back Devon Achane and wide receiver Ainias Smith, and the coaches may look to feature them more in the game plan because of their immense levels of talent. Two more players who could make their presence known on Saturday are 5-star wide receivers Evan Stewart and Chris Marshall. They’re both freshmen and could make a big impact under the lights on Saturday night.

Miami vs. Texas A&M Betting Prediction
The over 44.5 seems very appealing to me. It’s extremely unlikely that Texas A&M is going to be horrible on offense two games in a row. I like Miami’s chances in this game because of the quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. As talented as Texas A&M’s roster is, I feel like it doesn’t always translate onto the field. I think the Hurricanes are able to keep it close and cover the number.
