Michigan vs. Rutgers Prediction
Looking to win for the first time since its opening game, Michigan travels to Piscataway, NJ in Week 12 to take on Rutgers at 7:30 p.m. ET. Are the Scarlet Knights a live dog as a 12-point home underdog or will the Wolverines take out some frustrations tonight on their conference foe?

Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh said on Monday that redshirt sophomore QB Joe Milton and redshirt freshman QB Cade McNamara will both receive first-team reps as the Wolverines prepare for Saturday’s game at Rutgers. Milton (6’5/245) beat out Dylan McCaffrey, who has since entered his name into the transfer portal, for the starting job during preseason camp. But after performing well in Michigan’s season-opening win over Minnesota the redshirt sophomore has struggled, and it all came to a head during Saturday’s 49-11 home loss to Wisconsin. Milton threw two early interceptions, resulting in his being benched with McNamara (6’1/205) replacing him. While McNamara’s numbers weren’t great, as he completed 4-of-7 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown, he took better care of the football than Milton. A decision won’t be made on which quarterback starts at Rutgers until later in the week. And given Harbaugh’s policy of not releasing a depth chart, he may wait until Michigan’s first offensive snap to reveal his hand.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights Game Notes
Rutgers redshirt junior QB Noah Vedral completed 21-of-34 passes for 259 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in a 23-20 loss to Illinois on Saturday. Vedral (6’1/195) had his ups and downs, completing 62 percent of his passes but turning the ball over far too many times. His best throw of the day came on a 15-yard crossing-route to Bo Melton that he caught between two Illinois defenders and cashed in for the 66-yard touchdown reception. However his most memorable moment came when he threw a costly interception with under a minute remaining. The miscue gave the Fighting Illini great field position, as they were able to hit a couple of passes and kick the game-winning 47-yard field goal with :07 left on the clock. Next Saturday Rutgers hosts a sputtering Michigan team that has yet to win a game this season.

The over is a perfect 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams and is 44-19-1 in Michigan’s last 64 games overall. The over is also 36-17-1 in the Wolverines’ last 54 games when favored, has cashed in eight of their last 10 road games and is 21-8 in their last 29 conference games. On the other side, the over is 4-1 in the Scarlet Knights’ last five home games and is 5-2 in their last seven games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
