Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders Game Notes
Nicholas Vattiato went 30-for-41 for 279 yards and two touchdowns against Colorado State on Saturday. He also ran 15 times for 47 yards and a touchdown, but lost a fumble. It hasn’t led to much success from a win-loss perspective, but Vattiato has gotten better with every start. He’s quite efficient as a passer, and has ran for over 30 yards in his last three outings. One concern, though, is the fact he’s fumbled three times in only four games.
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers Game Notes
Austin Reed went 23-for-39 for 268 yards and two touchdowns against Troy on Saturday. This is maybe not quite what was hoped for from Reed after a tough day at Ohio State last week. However, this was a road game, and Troy has one of the best Group of Five defenses. The schedule gets easier from here, though Reed would benefit from a healthy receiving corps.

Middle Tennessee vs. Western Kentucky Betting Prediction
This is too many points to lay with an average Hilltoppers team. Granted, Middle Tennessee lost outright to Colorado State as a 4-point favorite, but we’ve all seen that the Rams are underrated. This is still the same Blue Raiders squad that went into Columbia, MO and nearly upset a ranked Missouri team in Week 2. After hanging 41 points on South Florida and 52 on an overmatched Houston Christian program, WKU’s offense tanked the past two weeks. This is not the same high-powered passing attack that we’ve seen in year’s past.
