Missouri Tigers Game Notes

Missouri redshirt freshman QB Connor Bazelak completed 21-of-30 passes for 201 yards while carrying the ball 10 times in Saturday’s 20-10 win over Kentucky. The burden of the offense was not on Bazelak’s shoulders in this one. Rather than carry the team to a victory with some high-flying passes, Bazelak’s job was to keep the chains moving and complement RB Larry Rountree’s hard-nosed running. Missouri earned over 43 minutes in time of possession thanks in part to Bazelak (6’3/220) keeping the ball safe and completing the simpler passes he needed to complete. That is not a pretty way to win a football game, but a win is a win is a win.

Florida Gators Game Notes

According to ESPN, the Florida Gators have had six new positive COVID cases in the past week. Florida just returned to practice on Monday after having spent two weeks off due to their previous COVID outbreak. Right now, all that is known is that six players have tested positive within the last seven days. It’s not known which exact players or how many other players may be subject to quarantining as result of contact tracing. As of now, Florida are still expected to play their game against Missouri on Saturday. Expect more updates on Florida’s ongoing COVID issue as the week rolls on and we get closer to game day.
