Game Snapshot

115 Missouri Tigers (+12) at 116 Tennessee Volunteers (-12); o/u 49.5

Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, TN

12:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, October 3, 2020

Missouri Tigers Game Notes

Missouri redshirt junior Shawn Robinson and sophomore Connor Bazelak are listed as co-starters at quarterback ahead of Saturday’s game at Tennessee. Robinson (6’2/220) had the better stat line in Missouri’s 38-19 loss to Alabama, as he completed 19-of-25 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown. But 54 of those yards came on a touchdown pass to Tyler Badie well after the outcome had been decided, so it makes sense that HC Eliah Drinkwitz would not make a change to the depth chart. Both Robinson and Bazelak should see action in Saturday’s game as the Tigers look to avoid falling to 0-2 on the season.

Tennessee Vols Game Notes

Tennessee HC Jeremy Pruitt has signed an extension through the 2025 season. Stability is long something the Tennessee Volunteers have been searching for. In Pruitt, they seem to believe they have found it. Pruitt kicked off his tenure with a middling 5-7 year in 2018 before opening the 2019 season with an abysmal loss to Georgia State. Since that upset loss, though, Tennessee have gone 8-4. Over that span, three of their four losses were to top-ten ranked SEC teams (Florida, Georgia, Alabama), and they rattled off six wins to finish the season. Pruitt also led the program to its first bowl appearance and win since 2016. if that weren’t enough, Tennessee currently holds a top-ten 2021 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, so the future is looking even brighter.
