Missouri Tigers Game Notes

Brady Cook (undisclosed) will be active during Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports. Cook was listed as questionable early in the week, but following a full practice Friday, he will be good to go Saturday. The junior quarterback has been stellar for the Tigers this season, throwing for 1,073 yards (72-of-100), seven touchdowns and zero interceptions across Missouri’s first four games. Cook will look to continue his efficient season against the Commodores this Saturday.

Vanderbilt Commodores Game Notes

AJ Swann (elbow) is considered questionable and a game-time decision for Saturday’s game versus Missouri, Aria Gerson of The Tennessean reports. Swann suffered an elbow contusion in last week’s game that has his status in jeopardy for Saturday’s contest. While it appears that Swann is unlikely to suit up, an official report will likely be released just before the game kicks off Saturday at 4 pm EST. Ken Seals would presumably get the start at quarterback if Swann is ruled out.

Missouri vs. Vanderbilt Betting Prediction

Take the points. Vanderbilt stinks, there’s no question. I can’t give you good Xs and Os data to back the Commodores because there are none. It’s why Vandy is a 14-point underdog at home today. That said, I know Mizzou. The Tigers are still flying high after beating Kansas State two weeks ago and they have LSU on deck next Saturday in Columbia, MO. After playing in St. Louis last Saturday night against Memphis, this is Mizzou’s first true road game. The Tigers have played relatively close games every week thus far, including versus South Dakota, Middle Tennessee and Memphis. I don’t trust their coaching staff to have this team focused on Vandy as opposed to its date with LSU next week. In fact, the Mizzou faithful are already bitching about the LSU game not being at night (it’ll be at 12:00 p.m. ET). Take the points and watch Mizzou sneak out a win today against an opponent they should otherwise throttle.

Missouri vs. Vanderbilt Prediction: Vanderbilt Commodores +14
