Aztecs ready for Air Force?
The Mountain West Conference Championship features a big battle at the line of scrimmage when Air Force and San Diego State collide today.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, San Diego State is favored in this title game, as the Aztecs are getting odds of -6.5 points against Air Force. The over/under total for the game has been set at 50 points. These two meet tonight at 7:30PM ET from Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The game airs live on ESPN2.
The story of today’s game looks to be the Air Force rushing attack against the San Diego State run defense. Both of which rank among the best in the country. The Falcons (8-4, 8-4 ATS) rank third in the nation on the ground, averaging 323.5 yards per game. Air Force uses an attack by committee, with seven players having run for over 300 yards. Jacobi Owens is the leader with 857 yards but QB Karson Roberts has run for 591 yards while passing for 1,411 yards. For today’s game, Roberts has an over/under of 58.5 rushing yards while Owens has his over/under set at 60.5 rushing yards.
San Diego State (9-3, 7-4 ATS) comes in to this championship game with the fourth-best rushing defense. The Aztecs give up just 95 yards per game on the ground and they rank sixth in total defense (283.6 ypg). San Diego State has not been outgained on the ground since their season opener while Air Force has been outgained on two occasions, including in last week’s 47-35 loss to New Mexico. The Lobos had a 377-222 edge on the ground.
