Bet on Mountain West Championship

Wyoming is backing into this game, losing two of their last three to drop to 8-4 on the year. They are 7-5 against the spread, covering in their last four at home. The Cowboys have an impressive offense that is putting up 38.2 points and 447.3 yards per game, but their defense is allowing 35.5 points and 475.4 yards per game. The defense stepped up somewhat in the win over SDSU, as Wyoming outgained the Aztecs 487-389. Wyoming ran for 205 yards in the win. Brian Hill had 131 yards and two scores. He has run for 1,674 yards and 21 touchdowns on the year. Josh Allen has thrown for 2,748 yards and 23 touchdowns and he had 282 passing yards with two scores in the win over San Diego State.

San Diego State is also backing into this game, losing their last two to fall to 9-3 on the year. The Aztecs are 6-5-1 against the spread on the year and just 2-3 ATS in their last five on the road. San Diego State has a solid defense, allowing just 20.8 points and 318.3 yards per game. However, that unit still gave up over 400 yards to Wyoming in the first meeting. On offense, San Diego State averages 36 points and 426.8 yards per game, including 275.9 rushing yards per contest. Donnel Pumphrey has run for 1,908 yards and 15 touchdowns this year, but was held to 76 yards on 17 carries against Wyoming. Christian Champman has thrown for 1,781 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Wyoming won the first meeting in an upset, but the Cowboys are a good team, especially at home. They proved they can move the ball on San Diego State and they were able to contain Pumphrey. San Diego State hasn’t won in over three weeks and not playing it’s best right now. So, giving up 7 points on the road with a title on the line doesn’t excite me. I’m sticking with WYOMING.
