N.C. State vs. Wake Forest Prediction

Will the N.C. State Wolfpack pick up another road victory tonight when they visit the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at 7:30 p.m. ET? Let’s dive into the matchup.

ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Wake Forest. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Demon Deacons are 1.5-point home favorites over the Wolfpack after the game opened as a pick’em. The total, meanwhile, currently sits at 63 points after hitting the board at 61.5.

THE PUBLIC LIKES: As of Saturday afternoon, nearly 60% of tickets were on N.C. State to cover the small spread.

HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: The home team is 17-4 against the spread in the last 21 meetings between these two teams, the favorite is 4-1 against the number in the last five meetings, and the Wolfpack are just 1-9 at the betting window in their last 10 trips to Winston-Salem. That said, N.C. State is also 4-1 against the spread in its last five games versus Wake.

WHO WE LIKE: N.C. State. The Wolfpack might be road weary and after playing in a couple of big games, perhaps they’re somewhat running out of gas. But I just can’t go against that defense, which should keep an explosive Wake offense in check.

The Wolfpack are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven road games, are 3-1-1 against the number in their last five games overall, and are 7-2-1 at the betting window in their last 10 games played on Fieldturf.

The Demon Deacons, meanwhile, are just 7-15-1 against the spread in their last 23 games coming off a win of more than 20 points. I’m not going to back a team that allowed 43 points and surrendered 621 yards to Syracuse last week, win or no win. (The Orange also started its back-up quarterback and still did that much damage against the Deacons defense.)

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 12 PICK: N.C. STATE WOLFPACK +1.5
