Navy Midshipmen Game Notes
Tai Lavatai completed 8 of 13 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown during Saturday’s 24-0 victory against Wagner. He also had 16 rushes for 65 yards. Lavatai set a career high in passing yards Saturday as he completed eight passes for 161 yards, highlighted by three completions for 30 or more yards and a 12-yard touchdown to Camari Williams. He also found his groove on the ground again, rushing for 65 yards on 16 attempts. Granted, this production was against FCS Wagner, but seeing him produce ahead of the start of conference play is a good sign for him.
Memphis Tigers Game Notes
Seth Henigan was 21-for-29 passing for 239 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday’s 37-3 victory versus Arkansas State. He also had eight rushes for 26 yards with one touchdown. Henigan contributed three touchdowns in Saturday’s win including a 52-yard pass to Tauskie Dove and a seven-yard run. Navy vs. Memphis Betting Prediction
Give me Memphis. In their first two games, the Tigers have been Navy-like with the way they’ve controlled the clock. They’re also leading the nation in third down stops, allowing just 4-of-29 conversions on that down to start the season. Has Memphis been tested yet? No, but Navy hasn’t exactly looked like the Navy we have come to expect. The Midshipmen aren’t turning the ball over, but their offense has been anemic thus far. Case in point? Navy only beat Wagner 24-0 last week. If the Midshipmen were any good offensively, they would have hung 40 on the board.
