G. Tech vs. Notre Dame Odds
No. 8 Notre Dame is pretty banged up, but it will attempt to stay unbeaten on Saturday when it hosts No. 14 Georgia Tech at 3:30PM ET on NBC.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Georgia Tech is the slight favorite on the road, as the Yellow Jackets are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Irish. The over/under total for the game has been set at 55 points. These two last met in 2007 when Georgia Tech handed Notre Dame a 33-3 loss in South Bend.
Notre Dame is 2-0 on the season, 1-1 against the spread and 1-1 with the over/under total. The Irish started the season with a 38-3 win over Texas and then edged Virginia last week 34-27 on the road. Notre Dame is averaging 493.5 yards per game on offense while allowing 289.5 yards per contest. The Irish have suffered two huge injuries already this year as running back Tarean Folston was injured in the opener with a knee injury while quarterback Malik Zaire broke his ankle last week against Virginia. Both are out for the year. DeShone Kizer is now under center. He has 92 yards passing with two touchdowns this season, including the game-winner in the closing seconds against Virginia. C.J. Prosise has rushed for 253 yards and one touchdown to lead the offense.
Georgia Tech is 2-0 on the season, 2-0 against the spread and 2-0 with the over. The Yellow Jackets defeated Alcorn State 69-6 to start the season and then beat Tulane 65-10 last week. Tech is posting 562 yards per game, including 457.5 rushing yards per contest, while allowing just 260 yards per game on defense. Leading the ground game is Marcus Marshall, who has 221 yards with two touchdowns. Patrick Skov has added 122 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Justin Thomas has thrown for 151 yards and three scores while rushing for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
