Bet Nebraska at Missouri
Missouri has had
Nebraska’s number as of late, winning the last two meetings by 35 points each. Now, the Tigers are off to a 4-0 start behind new quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who has thrown for 1,161 yards with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in four games. Danario Alexander and Jared Perry have each caught at least 25 passes for 380 yards and the two have nine combined touchdown receptions. The Tigers rank fourth in the Big XII in passing yards, but those numbers are skewed as the conference is very pass-happy. Defensively, the Tigers are near the top of the conference in fewest points allowed, but rank in the bottom half in yards allowed, passing yards allowed, and rushing yards allowed. Last week may have been the Tigers’ biggest win of the year, beating
Nevada 31-21 on the road, but
Missouri still allowed over 200 yards rushing to the Wolfpack in the win.
Nebraska’s road to 3-1 has been much more challenging that
Missouri’s road to 4-0 thus far. The Huskers lone loss came in a disappointing 16-15 defeat to Virginia Tech on the road, where the Hokies scored the game-winning touchdown in the closing minutes of the game. Aside from the loss to Virginia Tech,
Nebraska has rolled past its other non-conference foes by a combined score of 142-12, including a 55-0 shutout of Louisiana-Lafayette last weekend. Currently
Nebraska ranks third in the conference in points scored per-game. Zac Lee has been solid for
Nebraska at quarterback, completing 65 percent of his passes while throwing for 927 yards and seven touchdowns. Roy Helu has led the
Nebraska offense though, with 464 yards rushing and five touchdowns. Defensively, the Huskers are first in the Big XII in fewest points allowed and are second in fewest passing yards allowed. Friday will be the biggest challenge yet for the Huskers’ secondary.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made
Nebraska 3.5-point road favorites over
Missouri on Friday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 52.5.
