Nebraska Cornhuskers Game Notes
Nebraska coach Mickey Joseph said Thursday that Casey Thompson (elbow) won’t play in Saturday’s game versus Michigan, Luke Mullin of The Lincoln Journal Star reports. Thompson will miss his second consecutive game Saturday with an elbow injury. Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers will both be in contention for the starting quarterback job versus Michigan. Thompson’s next opportunity to play will be next Saturday versus Wisconsin.
Michigan Wolverines Game Notes
J.J. McCarthy completed 13 of 27 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday’s 52-17 victory over Rutgers. He also had four rushes for six yards with one touchdown. McCarthy completed a season-low 48.1 percent of his passes as the Wolverines’ entire team faltered in the second quarter, falling behind 17-14 at the end of the first half. However, the sophomore signal-caller bounced back with two passing touchdowns of 14 and six yards in the third quarter. McCarthy also scored on the ground for just the second time this season on a one-yard rush late in the first quarter, and he’ll look to establish some more consistency against Nebraska this coming Saturday.

Nebraska vs. Michigan Betting Prediction
The Wolverines should handle the Cornhuskers today but we’ve also seen them struggle to cover big numbers this season. Instead of laying the 30-plus points, I’m instead going to take the under, which is 5-1 in Nebraska’s last six games, is 5-0 in its last five games coming off a loss and is 4-1 in its last five conference games. On the other side, the under is 11-4 in the Wolverines’ last 15 home games, is 5-2 in their last seven games versus an opponent with a losing record and has cashed in seven of their last 10 games overall.
