Anu to lead AZ past N. Mexico?
If Arizona is going to prevail in the New Mexico Bowl today it will be up to Anu Solomon to lead the Wildcats past New Mexico.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, Arizona is the current favorite in this game, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -7.5 points against New Mexico. The over/under total for the game has been set at 64.5 points. These two meet today at 2PM ET on ESPN live from University Stadium in Albuquerque, NM.
Solomon leads Arizona (6-6, 6-6 ATS) into today’s bowl game as the Wildcats seek a positive ending to a disappointing season. Losers of four of their last five, Solomon still leads an impressive Wildcat offense that ranks 19th nationally in scoring (36.8 ppg) and 15th in total offense (494.2 ypg). The sophomore QB has thrown for 2,338 yards and 18 touchdowns this season with only four interceptions. He has also run for 186 yards and two scores
For today’s bowl game, oddsmakers have listed Solomon with an over/under of 275.5 passing yards against New Mexico. The Lobos (7-5, 6-6 ATS) haven’t exactly been a defense to rely on this season, allowing 237.7 passing yards per game, which ranks 87th nationally. That is also coming against a somewhat lackluster Mountain West Conference schedule. By comparison, the Lobos lost 34-10 to Arizona State earlier this year, giving up 317 passing yards in the process. This season, Solomon has thrown for at least 276 yards in six games, including his last two starts. Considering Arizona’s leading rusher, Nick Wilson, is not playing in this game, look for Solomon to lead the way for the Wildcats.
