North Carolina Tar Heels Game Notes

Drake Maye passed for 309 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions to go along with 14 rushes for 53 yards in Saturday’s 27-24 win over Miami. Maye has the Tar Heels out to a 5-1 start, having another solid game at the helm. The quarterback has thrown for over 300 yards in three straight games and extended his multiple passing touchdowns streak to six games. Entering Saturday, Maye had thrown just one interception, doubling his season total in the close win. Maye has nine passing touchdowns on throws of 20 or more yards this season.

Duke Blue Devils Game Notes

Riley Leonard passed for 136 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday’s 23-20 loss to Georgia Tech. Leonard completed just 47.6 percent of his passes, averaging 3.2 yards per attempt in the loss. The quarterback struggled to get anything going in the ground game as well, gaining only 29 rushing yards, his second lowest of the season. Through six games this season, Leonard ranks in the middle of the pack among ACC passers, ranking No. 7 in yards and No. 8 in touchdowns. Leonard and the Blue Devils’ offense were unable to find much success on Saturday, scoring just six points through three quarters before exploding for 14 points in the fourth quarter.
