North Carolina vs. Miami Week 7: Will the score stay under the total?

North Carolina vs. Miami Pick

Will the combined score stay under the total for bettors when Miami hosts North Carolina at 3:30PM ET on Saturday?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Hurricanes are 7.5-point home favorites versus the Tar Heels after opening as a 7-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, hasn’t moved off the original number after it opened at 64.5 earlier this week.

The Tar Heels had their four-game winning streak snapped last Saturday when they fell 34-3 to Virginia Tech as a 3-point home underdog. That loss dropped UNC’s record to 4-2 on the season, with the Heels’ only other loss coming in Week 1 to Georgia, 33-24. The Tar Heels are also 3-3 against the spread after failing to cover last week.

The Hurricanes are coming off their first loss of the season, a heart-breaking 20-19 defeat at the hands of their bitter rival, Florida State. The Hurricanes had rallied in the fourth quarter after blowing a 13-0 halftime lead, only to have an extra point blocked that would have sent the game into overtime. Miami is now 4-1 on the year and 4-1 against the spread after failing to cover the number for the first time all season.

OUR PICK: The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Miami and is 11-5 in the Hurricanes’ last 16 games played in October. The under is also 4-0 in the Tar Heels’ last four games in October, is 9-1 in their last 10 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game and is 4-1 in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home. It might be difficult for Miami to get back up following the loss to Florida State.
