North Texas Green Mean Game Notes
Ikaika Ragsdale rushed 17 times for 122 yards and a touchdown versus Rice on Saturday. He also caught five passes for 59 yards and a score. North Texas’ top-two backs were hurt, so Ragsdale stepped up, leasding the team in rushing yards, receiving yards, and receptions. Can he do it again next week in the Conference USA title game against UTSA? More to the point, will he be asked to? It depends on the health of UNT’s backfield.
UTSA Roadrunners Game Notes
Head coach Jeff Traylor said Monday that Kevorian Barnes is in line to start Friday’s game against North Texas with Brenden Brady (undisclosed) ruled out and Trelon Smith (lower body) currently listed as doubtful, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports. Barnes is slated to handle most of the Roadrunners’ backfield work in Week 14, while Tye Edwards and Julon Williams are both candidates to be in the mix for rotational snaps. Across UTSA’s last six contests, the 215-pounder has rushed 80 times for 518 yards and five touchdowns, while he also added six catches for 100 more yards in that span.
