Brown not listed on NIU depth chart

Antario Brown (leg) is not on the depth chart for Monday’s game against Fresno State. The senior running back isn’t expected to play in the bowl game, and if that’s the case, his season will end with 115 carries for 567 yards and four touchdowns across eight appearances. Gavin Williams could see more of the workload out of the backfield, while Telly Johnson and Jaylen Poe are also options to see work.

Fresno QB Keene enters transfer portal

Mikey Keene will enter the transfer portal, Chris Hummer of 247Sports.com reports. Keene is coming off a solid year for Fresno State, tossing for 2,887 yards, 18 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 70 percent of his passes. The quarterback spent two seasons at UFC before starting the past two years for Fresno State. He’ll now look for his third home in what should be his final year of eligibility. Keene will be one of the bigger quarterback dominos on the transfer market this winter.

Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State Prediction

Take Fresno State. Both of these teams are missing a slew of players. Are the Bulldogs missing more parts? Yeah, but that’s why they’re catching a field goal and a hook. The Huskies are missing at least six starters and a handful of other key contributors. Quarterback Ethan Hampton is now with Wake Forest, their starting running back isn’t even on the depth chart and their defensive line and secondary are missing key parts as well. Thus, I’m not going to overact to Fresno not having its quarterback. This is an even matchup, all things considered.
