Northwestern Wildcats Game Notes
Ben Bryant (upper body) is expected to be available during Northwestern’s game Saturday at Duke, Inside NU reports. Bryant exited Northwestern’s previous game early with an upper-body injury. Fortunately for him, he is not expected to miss any time because of the injury. Bryant did well throwing the ball his first two games this year. He completed 31 of 52 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown.
Duke Blue Devils Game Notes
Riley Leonard completed 12 of 12 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown during Saturday’s 42-7 win versus Lafayette. Leonard followed up his stellar outing against Clemson with perfection against Lafayette. The junior quarterback completed all 12 of his pass attempts in two-and-a-half quarters of action, before giving way to Henry Belin in a rout of the Leopards. Leonard didn’t add much across the ground in the beatdown, but he was hardly tasked with extending drives using his legs as the Blue Devils cruised to a 2-0 start.
Northwestern vs. Duke Betting Trends
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Northwestern’s last 8 games when playing Duke
Northwestern is 6-2 SU in its last 8 games when playing on the road against Duke
Duke is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home
Duke is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games
Northwestern vs. Duke Betting Prediction
Give me the under. I know Northwestern rebounded against UTEP last week but the Miners have never beaten a Power 5 program on the road, so let’s not assume the Wildcats have fixed the issues that plagued them against Rutgers in Week 1. They were dreadful in that game offensively and I expect them to be dreadful today in Durham. Northwestern’s defense is decent, however, so Leonard and Co. might not be able to move up and down the field at will. At the end of the day, I don’t see the Wildcats scoring enough to contribute to the over.
