Notre Dame Fighting Irish Game Notes
Sam Hartman was accurate against Ohio State, completing 17-of-25 attempts but only for 175 yards and a touchdown in the 17-14 defeat on Saturday night. The senior was hoping to put up more yardage even against a top six pass defense of the Buckeyes. Hartman and the Irish travel to Duke, who are undefeated at 4-0, on Sept. 30. The Blue Devils defense is top four against the pass, but Duke’s toughest opponent so far was Clemson in the first week. The Tigers registered more than 200 passing yards against the Blue Devils.
Duke Blue Devils Game Notes
Riley Leonard was 15-for-20 passing for 219 yards during Saturday’s 38-14 win over Northwestern. He also had 13 rushes for 97 yards with two touchdowns. Although Leonard was unable to throw for a score, he was able to find the end zone twice through the ground while leading the team in rushing yards. The junior quarterback has been efficient with his passes, completing 64.4 percent of his attempts, however, he has only thrown one touchdown pass without any interceptions across three games. The Blue Devils’ signal caller will face Connecticut during next week’s matchup with hopes of extending their three-game winning streak.

Notre Dame vs. Duke Betting Prediction
Take Notre Dame. Public bettors are likely down on ND after they backed the Irish to pull off the upset last Saturday night against Ohio State. That said, Clemson was a double-digit road favorite against Duke in Week 1 and the Fighting Irish are the better overall team. So why is ND only a 5.5-point road favorite tonight? Because the Blue Devils used a slew of turnovers to beat Clemson? I’m not taking anything away from Duke. Leonard is a legit NFL prospect and the Blue Devils have earned their unbeaten record to date. But Notre Dame is stout defensively and while the team only scored 14 points last week, Hartman and Co. did move the ball consistently against an excellent Buckeye defense.
Notre Dame vs. Duke Prediction: Notre Dame Fighting Irish -5.5
