Buckeyes strong ATS vs. non-conference
Ohio State will start its title defense tonight when it visits Virginia Tech at 8:00PM ET and the Buckeyes have had plenty of success covering the number against non-conference foes.

The Buckeyes are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four non-conference games and are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games played in September. When they’ve gone on the road, they’re 36-15-1 at the betting window in their last 52 games away from Columbus, and are a profitable 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Of course, the last time these two teams met last year the Hokies handed the Buckeyes their only defeat of the season, beating Ohio State 35-21 in Columbus.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Ohio State is a 14-point favorite versus VA Tech for tonight’s game while the total is sitting at 53 points. The Buckeyes had opened as 12.5-point favorites before the line jumped.
