The defending national champion Buckeyes received all 61 first-place votes from the media panel, which is a first. TCU is No. 2 in the AP preseason poll, while Alabama is No. 3, Baylor is No. 4 and Michigan State rounds out the top 5.

Urban Meyer’s program was the first to win the College Football Playoff championship when it beat Oregon in the title game last year. The Buckeyes return quarterbacks Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett, as well as future first-round pick Joey Bosa to their defense. It’s no surprise that they were ranked No. 1 unanimously in the polls, as well as favored to repeat as champions.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Buckeyes are 2/1 favorites to win it all again this season. TCU has the next best odds at 6/1, followed by Alabama at 13/2 and Auburn at 12/1. Baylor is 15/1.
