The point spread in next Monday night’s Ohio State vs. Notre Dame CFP National Championship matchup has moved in favor of the Fighting Irish. How much has it moved and what about the total?

Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Line Movement

Following their 28-14 victory over Texas in the semi-finals, the Buckeyes opened as 9.5-point favorites at most sportsbooks. Depending on which sportsbook you viewed, the line stayed at that number for roughly 24 hours before the number dropped a full point in favor of the Irish. If you shop around, you can find Ohio State as low as -8 at some books.

As for the total, the number hit the open market at 45.5. You can still find 45.5 if you like the over, or you can shop around and find 46s if you favor the under. Oddsmakers must not feel compelled to move the total too much, although betting limits will increase the closer we get to next Monday night’s 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Other Betting Markets

As for the other betting markets, the Buckeyes are laying 5.5 points in the first half, while the total is 23. Ohio State is also -250 on the moneyline in the first half (-355 for the game), whereas the Irish are +205 on the first half moneyline and +280 for the entire game. The Buckeyes are also -2.5 in the first and second quarter, respectively, and are -1.5 in the third quarter. The total for the first and third quarters are both 9.5, while the total for the second quarter is 12.5.

Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Recent ATS History

Ohio State will enter next Monday night’s national championship with a 9-6 record against the spread and are 8-7 to the under. The Buckeyes covered in each of their first three playoff games, posting ATS wins against Tennessee (-7), Oregon (-2.5) and Texas (-4.5). The over hit in their first two CFP games, but the under 51.5 cashed when they faced the Longhorns.

Notre Dame, meanwhile, is 13-2 at the betting window this season and 8-7 to the over. Notre Dame trailed 10-3 at half of that game, but won a back-and-forth shootout in the final two quarters. After the under cashed in the Irish’s first two games, the over hit in their win against the Nittany Lions.
