Sooners rolling along
Oklahoma is off to a 4-0 start to the season thanks to a 55-16 win over Texas Tech last weekend. The Sooners are 1-0 in Big 12 play, 3-1 against the spread and 2-1-1 with the over/under total.
Nobody is putting up the offensive numbers Oklahoma has been for the past few years and this season is no difference. The Sooners are averaging 55.5 points and 668.5 yards per game this season. Defensively, Oklahoma is giving up just 18.8 points and 343 yards per outing. Jalen Hurts is making a push to be a third straight Oklahoma Heisman winner. He has thrown for 1,295 yards and 12 touchdowns while also rushing for 443 yards and five scores. CeeDee Lamb is the leading receiver with 16 catches for 414 yards and six touchdowns while Trey Sermon has rushed for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
Jayhawks crushed by TCU
The Kansas football team has lost its first two Big 12 games, including a 51-14 defeat at the hands of TCU last weekend. The Jayhawks are just 2-3 overall, 1-4 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.
Kansas is struggling on both sides of the ball. While only allowing 26.6 points per game, the Jayhawks are giving up 424.4 yards per game. Offensively, Kansas is averaging 23.4 points and 353.4 yards per contest. Khalil Herbert has rushed for 384 yards and two touchdowns, but he has left the team for a personal matter. Pooka Williams Jr. has rushed for 308 yards and a score. Carter Stanley has thrown for 945 yards and nine touchdowns with four interceptions, while Andrew Parchment has 28 catches for 377 yards and four scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma
The Sooners are 5-1 with the over in their last six against a losing team and 22-8 in their last 30 games in October.
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 13-6 with the under in their last 19 games in October, but 5-2 with the over in their last seven games following a loss.
Prediction:
These two put up 95 points last year at Oklahoma, but they have hit the under in three of their last five meetings. That is mostly because of Kansas. The Jayhawks have scored 7 points or less in four of their last five against Oklahoma. I think that could be a problem again this week. Oklahoma’s defense looks much improved this year. I expect the Sooners to continue to roll on offense, but being on the road should slow them down just a touch. I think that will lead the under to hit.
