Ole Miss Rebels Game Notes
Three of Ole Miss’s top four tight ends are on the injury report for this weekend’s game. Projected starter Caden Prieskorn is recovering from foot surgery and likely won’t be able to take the field until mid-September. Third-string tight end Michael Trigg Jr. didn’t play in the Rebels’ Week 1 win over Mercer, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Saturday’s tilt with an unknown injury. Fourth-string tight end Hudson Wolfe left Ole Miss’s last game with a shoulder injury and he’s officially listed as doubtful for Saturday’s tilt with Tulane. This means that Ole Miss backup tight end Kyirin Heath should get most of the snaps on Saturday. Heath had 3 catches for 48 yards last week against Mercer.
Tulane Green Wave Game Notes
Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt was nearly perfect in the Green Wave’s 37-17 Week 1 win over South Alabama on Saturday. Pratt completed 14 of 15 passes for 296 yards and 4 touchdowns while posting a QBR of 96.5 out of 100. Pratt is one of the more underrated signal-callers in college football and his skill and leadership could propel Tulane to a standout performance in Saturday’s game.

Tulane defensive lineman Patrick Jenkins was instrumental in his team’s Week 1 win over South Alabama on Saturday. The 6’2” 305-pound junior recorded 5 total tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble as the Green Wave held the Jaguars to only 265 total yards this past weekend. Jenkins and fellow defensive lineman Kameron Hamilton will likely have to pressure Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart to slow down the Rebels’ offensive attack.

Ole Miss vs. Tulane Betting Prediction
Tulane has been one of the more underrated teams in college football over the past few years. Last season, Green Wave head coach Willie Fritz led Tulane to an incredible 12-2 season which culminated in his team beating USC in the Cotton Bowl. Furthermore, Tulane is 13-2 straight up in their last 15 games. The Green Wave also have one of the best Group of 5 QBs in the nation in Michael Pratt who threw for 3,009 yards and 27 touchdowns last season. He’s good enough to match points with Ole Miss.
Then there’s Ole Miss. The Rebels fell apart at the end of last season as they finished the year by losing 5 of their last 6 and their last 4 contests in a row. The talent is there for Ole Miss and likely will be for a while, but that’s not a guarantee of anything. Tulane beat both Kansas State and USC last season, so they’re a team that believes they can play with Power 5 competition. I think they’re right to feel that way and I think they’ll give Ole Miss a game on Saturday. I’m on the Green Wave and the points at home.
