Oregon Ducks Game Notes
Bo Nix was 23-for-27 passing for 287 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday’s 81-7 win versus Portland State. Nix did almost all of his damage in the first half, as Oregon emptied their bench and pulled Nix early in the third quarter. Nix’s numbers would have been much higher if he had stayed in the game, but the decision doesn’t bode well for the program’s interest in promoting Nix for the Heisman. He is a sure bet to play a full four quarters against a much tougher Texas Tech squad next week.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Game Notes
Gino Garcia connected on 2-for-5 field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 point-after tries during Saturday’s 35-33 overtime defeat versus Wyoming. Garcia had a tough day in a hectic environment, but it’s not all bad as the three misses did come from beyond 40 yards and he did make a 54-yard field goal. Texas Tech will host Oregon next week in a game that should feature a ton of points.

Oregon vs. Texas Tech Betting Prediction
Give me the over. I know it was only Portland State, but Oregon hung 81 points on the board last week. EIGHTY ONE! Nix completed 23 of its last 27 passes and Bucky Irving carried the ball four times for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Tyler Shough was supposed to be the next great quarterback at Oregon and wound up transferring to Texas Tech. He’s going to have this Tech offense humming from the outset and while Oregon’s defense didn’t have to do much last week, it’ll step up in competition tonight in Lubbock.
