ARLINGTON, TX (The Spread) – Oregon will be without one of its top offensive weapons for Monday’s national championship game against Ohio State because of a failed drug test.

The news broke early on Saturday morning across multiple media platforms that Oregon receiver Darren Carrington is ineligible for Monday’s game after failing a drug test after testing positive for marijuana.

Currently, oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have Oregon favored in this contest, as the Ducks are getting odds of -6 points against Ohio State on Monday night. The over/under total for the game has been listed at 74.5 points.

Carrington is second on the team in receiving yards, as he has 37 receptions for 704 yards and four touchdowns this season. He is averaging 19 yards per reception. Carrington has been a big threat in Oregon’s last two games, as he had seven receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown in the Pac-12 Championship, then followed that up with seven receptions for 165 yards and two scores in the Rose Bowl.
