Penn State vs. Wisconsin Big Ten Championship Line Movement Report 12/3/16

Line Moving in Big Ten Title Game

The spread in tonight’s Big Ten Championship Game has moved two full points off the original number set by oddsmakers.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Wisconsin is now a 3-point favorite versus Penn State after opening as a 1-point favorite earlier this week. The point spread has danced between 2.5 and 3 throughout the week but has seemingly settled on a field goal as of this writing.

Public bettors are somewhat torn on which team to back tonight, although Wisconsin is receiving 57% of public backing at the moment. Is that enough for oddsmakers to move the line without some sharp play as well? Probably not, which is something to think about. Certainly some wiseguys have jumped on the Badgers to go from essentially a pick’em up to  a key number of 3.

The over is also 4-1 in the Nittany Lions’ last five games overall and has cashed in six of their last seven games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.

The Badgers, meanwhile, are 3-0-1 against the number in their last four conference games and are 6-1-1 at the betting window in their last eight games against an opponent with a winning record.
