Pittsburgh vs. Miami, 10/17/20 College Football Week 7 Predictions

Pittsburgh vs. Miami Prediction

ACC foes Pittsburgh and No. 13 Miami will clash at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET as both teams are in search of their fourth win of the season. With the total dropping from 52 down to 47.5 at most books, is the under the best bet on the board?

Game Snapshot

113 Pittsburgh Panthers (+13) at 114 Miami Hurricanes (-13); o/u 47.5

Pittsburgh Panthers Game Notes

Pitt HC Pat Narduzzi says senior QB Kenny Pickett (ankle) “is not 100% healthy,” but that the team feels good about where is health/progress is at right now. Pickett (6’2/220) is a tough dude and Narduzzi said as much himself. The senior QB injured his ankle during the Boston College game, but after some tape and a little dirt in the wound, Pickett was able to finish out the game. On Thursday, Narduzzi added that Pickett is not quite 100% yet, but that he and the team feels good about where he is at. There is not yet a decision on whether Pickett will play against Miami on Saturday, though, and Narduzzi isn’t the type of coach to release that information until he has to. Look for an update Saturday morning on Pickett’s status.

Miami Hurricanes Game Notes

Miami redshirt senior QB D’Eriq King completed just 12-of-28 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 14 times for 84 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 42-17 loss to Clemson. Nobody expected Miami to beat Clemson, but Hurricanes fans sure would have liked for their QB to look better in the loss. In fairness to King, the wet weather conditions did not help, especially since King does not have the strongest arm to begin with. King (5’121/202) had not thrown any interceptions to this point in the year, so throwing two of them in this game makes it unequivocally his worst performance thus far. All that being said, King has been mostly great this year and should bounce back next week against Pitt.

Pittsburgh vs. Miami Betting Prediction

The under cashed in four of the last five meetings between these two teams and I see it doing so again on Saturday afternoon. The under is 30-14-1 in the Panthers’ last 45 games overall, is 11-1 in their last 12 games as a road underdog and hit in 15 of Pitt’s last 19 road games. On the other side, the under is 12-4 in Miami’s last 16 games when facing an opponent with a winning record and is 7-2 in the Hurricanes’ last nine games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous contest. The under is also 10-3 in the U’s last 13 games played in the month of October.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 7 BETTING PREDICTION: PITTSBURGH/MIAMI UNDER 47.5
