Bet Purdue vs. Ohio State Odds
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made Ohio State a 23.5-point favorite over Purdue in Week 8. The over/under total for this game is currently 47 points.
Let’s get to our free pick.
The Boilermakers come into Saturday’s game sporting a 4-2 overall record, although they’re just 3-3 against the spread. They’re 1-1 on the road this year, but covered as an 11.5-point underdog at Notre Dame in Week 1 and then again as an 8-point underdog at Northwestern earlier this month.
The only blemish on the Buckeyes’ record came last Saturday in Wisconsin. They’re 6-1 on the year and have covered in five of their first seven games, although they’ve failed to cover against Illinois and Wisconsin – two Big Ten opponents. They’re 5-0 at home this year, however, and covered in all five of those games.
Our Pick:
Was last week an anomaly for the Buckeyes or did the Badgers expose a weakness? Either way, Purdue won’t be able to do on the ground to Ohio State what Wisconsin did. Thus, we should see a much better effort out of the Buckeyes’ front seven this Saturday and our prediction is that it’ll be a low scoring affair. We think Jim Tressel will keep the ball on the ground with Daniel Herron and quarterback Terrelle Pryor, and physically beat up Purdue. The under is 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams, and we like the total to fall under again this year. Our pick for this contest is the under.
