Wisconsin 2011 Season Odds
(The Spread) – It’s not often a team can add an experience quarterback to an already strong team, but that is the case for the Wisconsin Badgers in the 2011 College Football Season.
The Badgers were 11-2 in 2010, winning a share of the Big Ten Championship, and during the offseason, Wisconsin landed former N.C. State quarterback, Russell Wilson. Wilson was able to leave N.C. State and transfer to Wisconsin without sitting out a season because he graduated from the school with eligibility left. Wilson threw for 3,563 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2010 and also rushed for nine scores. Wilson joins a team that already has 14 starters back for sixth-year head coach, Brett Bielema.
According to oddsmakers, Wisconsin has 25/1 odds to win the 2012 BCS National Championship and 8/5 odds to win the Big Ten Conference. The Badgers are the favorite to win the Big Ten Leaders Division with 5/4 odds. Oddsmakers have also given the Badgers an over/under of 9.5 wins.

Along with a new quarterback, Wisconsin brings back two stud running backs in James White and Montee Ball. The two combined for over 2,000 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns in 2010, as Wisconsin averaged 246 rushing yards per game. Both backs have 80/1 odds to win the Heisman Trophy, according to oddsmakers. On defense, Wisconsin loses its top three tacklers, but returns most of its secondary and defensive line from a group that allowed just 20.5 points per game.
The Badgers have won at least 10 games in three of the five seasons under Bielema. They have yet to win a Heisman Trophy but have 12 conference titles in program history. This season’s schedule is pretty light in non-conference play. The toughest game will be at home with Oregon State. In fact, Wisconsin has just four road games for the season, with one neutral-site game. In Big Ten play, Wisconsin heads to Michigan State and Ohio State while hosting Penn State and Nebraska.
In 2010, Wisconsin was 8-5 against the spread, which was its best performance since 2006. Five of the eight covers came at home. In terms of over/unders, Wisconsin hit the over in 8 of the 13 games, including four of the five road games.
