View Current College Football Odds

North Carolina suffered a 35-7 loss to N.C. State to end the season, but the Tar Heels had won four of their last five prior to that and finished 6-6 on the season. UNC went 5-7 against the spread this year, but the Heels were 5-2 ATS in their last seven games to end the year. UNC hit the under in four of its last five games.

Rutgers is coming off a 41-38 win over Maryland to end its first season in the Big Ten. The Knights are 7-5 on the season and 3-5 in conference play. Rutgers went 7-5 against the spread this season, but the Knights were just 3-4 ATS in the last seven games of the year. The Knights hit the over in five of their last seven games as well.

According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, North Carolina is the slight favorite in this bowl game, as the Tar Heels are getting odds of -3 points against Rutgers (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game is listed at 67.5 points.

These two have been somewhat familiar, meeting four times since 2006. UNC won three of the four meetings, but the two split the spread in the four encounters. The key to this game will be if the UNC defense can improve on its awful numbers this year. The Heels allowed just under 500 yards per game, but it is thankfully playing a weak offense that is posting only 378.8 yards per game. Gary Nova will hope to lead Rutgers on offense. He has thrown for 2,667 yards and 20 touchdowns this season.
