Rutgers Scarlet Knights Game Notes
Rutgers wide receiver Chris Long Jr. is dealing with an upper-body injury, and he’s questionable for Saturday’s road tilt with Wisconsin. Long had 2 catches for 28 yards in Rutgers’ 24-7 Week 1 win over Northwestern.
Rutgers backup quarterback Evan Simon is questionable for this weekend’s game with an undisclosed ailment. If the redshirt sophomore cannot play on Saturday, Rutgers true freshman Ajani Sheppard would likely serve as the Scarlet Knights’ backup quarterback.

Wisconsin Badgers Game Notes
Wisconsin running back Chez Mellusi suffered a severe leg injury in his team’s 38-17 win over Purdue two weeks ago. Mellusi fractured his fibula and will miss the rest of the season. Mellusi was second on the team with 307 rushing yards this season. Sophomore running back Jackson Acker figures to get more carries as the backup behind Badgers star running back Braelon Allen on Saturday.
Wisconsin defensive end Isaiah Mullens has yet to suit up this season as he deals with a knee injury. He’s listed as questionable for this weekend’s tilt with Rutgers. Mullens had 11 total tackles in 5 games of action for the Badgers last season.

Rutgers vs. Wisconsin Betting Prediction
Wisconsin seems to finally be hitting its stride. The Badgers walloped Purdue on the road two weeks ago 38-17. In that contest, Wisconsin won the turnover battle 3-1, averaged 4.5 yards per rushing attempt and 6.9 yards per passing attempt while converting 12 of 18 third-down tries. It appears that the Badgers’ offense is trending in the right direction.
Rutgers might be 4-1 this season, but they’ve feasted on lesser competition in the early part of the season. The Scarlet Knights have wins over Northwestern, Temple, Virginia Tech, and Wagner. All of those games were at home. The only ranked team the Scarlet Knights played was Michigan, and they lost that game handily in Ann Arbor 31-7. In the past four times Rutgers has played Wisconsin, they’ve lost by an average of 34.5 points per game. Michigan ran for over 200 yards on Rutgers a few weeks ago, and I see no reason why Wisconsin can’t do the same. I’ll lay the points with the Badgers at home on Saturday.
