SAN DIEGO, CA (The Spread) – A pair of 7-5 teams meet up in today’s Poinsettia Bowl, as San Diego State takes on Navy at 9:30PM ET.

San Diego State comes into this game having won its last two and three of its last four to get to 7-5 on the season and 5-3 in the Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs were just 6-5-1 against the spread this season and they hit the under in 11 of 12 games in 2014. San Diego State has won and covered in its last three against Navy, dating back to 1994. The Aztecs have covered in three straight coming into this bowl game.

Navy is coming off its 17-10 win over Army on Dec. 13. The Midshipmen won their last three games and five of their last six to go 7-5 on the season. Navy was just 5-7 against the spread this season and they hit the under seven times. Navy failed to cover in its last two games, but it hit the over in four of its last five.

The focus of this game will be on the run games of both teams. Navy is obviously big on the run, rushing for 345.1 yards per game on the season, but San Diego State is giving up just 146.7 rushing yards per game. For San Diego State, it is posting 218.6 yards per game on the ground, while Navy is allowing just under 200 yards per game rushing. The Aztecs will look to slow down quarterback Keenan Reynolds, who has rushed for 1,182 yards and 21 scores while throwing for 826 yards and six scores. Navy will have its hands full with Donnel Pumphrey, who has rushed for 1,755 yards and 19 scores.
