San Jose State Spartans Game Notes
Charles Ross is listed as a starter on San Jose State’s depth chart ahead of their Week 0 matchup with USC on Aug. 26. Ross, who missed six of the last seven games in 2022 with an undisclosed injury, is set to start as the Spartans open their season against the Trojans on Saturday. The 6-foot-1 wideout logged 14 receptions for 204 yards and a touchdown across six games last season.
USC Trojans Game Notes
Michael Jackson has been banged up the last couple of weeks but is getting close to 100 percent, Chris Trevino of 247Sports reports. Jackson found his way into the lineup during the second half of the 2022 campaign, posting four catches for 31 yards and a touchdown in the bowl game versus Tulane. While he’s been dealing with an issue the last couple of weeks, the indication seems to be that it’s not serious, so he seems likely to be available for the opener versus San Jose State on Saturday.

San Jose State vs. USC Betting Prediction
Williams set USC’s single-season record for total offense (4,919 combined yards) and touchdowns (52) en route to winning the Heisman Trophy and being named Pac-12 Offensive Player the Year and AP Player of the Year. That said, I think San Jose State has enough firepower to make it interesting tonight in L.A. Chevan Cordeiro returns as the Spartans quarterback after he was named Mountain West Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and is coming off a season in which he threw for 3,251 yards passing with 23 touchdowns and six touchdowns. Even though they added a slew of talent through the transfer portal, the biggest question facing this USC team is whether or not it can hang defensively. Give me the points tonight.
