SMU Mustangs Game Notes
Rashee Rice will not play in SMU’s matchup with BYU at the New Mexico Bowl due to a broken toe, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports. Rice has apparently been playing through a broken toe since Sep. 24. He will now focus his sights on his recovery and preparing for the Senior Bowl. The receiver will end his senior season with 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns on 96 receptions.
BYU Cougars Game Notes
BYU coach Kalani Sitake said Puka Nacua is dealing with nagging injuries and isn’t a sure thing to play in Saturday’s game against SMU, Jay Drew of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. If Nacua is unable to play Saturday, Keanu Hill and Chase Roberts are candidates to see extra targets. Nacua finished the 2022 regular season with 48 catches for 625 yards and five touchdowns to go along with 25 rushes for 209 yards and five touchdowns in nine games.
