South Carolina Gamecocks Game Notes

South Carolina junior DB Israel Mukuamu (undisclosed) practiced Thursday and is expected to play Saturday against Florida. Mukuamu (6’4/198) played against Tennessee last Saturday but got banged up at some point and had to come out of the game. In typical college coaches fashion, scant details were given about the nature of the injury. According to PFF College, Mukuamu allowed roughly just two receptions per game last season, 13 of which were fewer than nine yards down the field. He also posted a three-interception game against Georgia, one of which he returned for an INT. Mukuamu has a real shot at being the top CB in the 2021 draft class with another strong season.

Florida Gators Game Notes

The Florida Gators jumped up three spots to third place in the coaches poll following their win over Ole Miss on Saturday. Three of the top four teams in the country are now SEC teams, with Clemson at No.1 being the lone outsider. In order to get to third place, the Gators jumped fellow SEC member Georgia, who won in terribly unconvincing fashion on Saturday. Florida, on the other hand, looked like an offensive powerhouse with QB Kyle Trask and TE Kyle Pitts putting up outrageous numbers.

South Carolina at Florida Betting Prediction

The Gamecocks are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, are 0-3-1 against the number in their last four games overall and are winless at the betting window in their last four games when facing an opponent with a winning record. The Gators, meanwhile, are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight conference games, are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and are 5-1 ATS in their last six games when listed as a favorite.
