Idaho-Nebraska Pick
Not know for being a high-scoring team, No. 6 Nebraska has large odds to cover Saturday afternoon against Idaho.
Nebraska is a 28-point home favorite against Idaho according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com. The over/under has been set at 54 for Saturday’s game.
Despite winning by 39, the Cornhuskes failed to cover the spread last week while still hitting the over. Nebraska is 4-1 ATS the last three years and 29-16 ATS since 1992 as favorites of 21.5-to-31 points. Also since 1992, the Huskers are 99-80 ATS as a favorite. The Huskers have hit the under in 4-of-5 games where it has been a favorite of 21.5-to-31 points over the last three years as well.
Idaho is 1-0 against the spread this season but 0-3 ATS as an underdog of 21.5-to-31 points in the last three seasons. With that same criteria, the Vandals are 7-13 ATS since 1992. As a road underdog of 21.5 points or more, Idaho is 1-3 ATS since 2008. Idaho has hit the over in 17-of-24 games in lined games over the last three season and hit the over in 11-of-12 road games during that stretch.
The trends favor the over and Nebraska in this game, but the Huskers are facing a competitive Idaho team that is on the rise. A 28-point spread is a lot for Nebraksa to cover against a 2009 bowl team. Nebraska won just four games by that margin last season. But, the conception that Nebraska can’t score makes that spread less than what it really should be and what has allowed Nebraska to cover more times than not in this situation. Look for the Huskers to win big while hitting the over with a complete performance.
