Oklahoma State 2011 Season Odds
(The Spread) – There might not be a more talented offense than Oklahoma State this season. But, will that talent translate to a Big 12 or BCS National Championship for the Cowboys?
Mike Gundy is in his seventh season as head coach of the Cowboys and is coming off an 11-2 record in 2010, his best season as head coach. This season, Oklahoma State returns a total of 15 starters, including nine from an offense that averaged 44.2 points and 520 yards per game.
According to oddsmakers, Oklahoma State has 25/1 odds to win the 2012 BCS National Championship and 8/1 odds to win the Big 12 Conference. In terms of a win total, oddsmakers have set the over/under at 8.5 wins for the Cowboys this season.

Oklahoma State has never won the national championship, but it does have nine conference titles in program history. There might be more to add this season with that offense, which is led by quarterback Brandon Weeden, who threw for 4,277 yards and 34 touchdowns last season. Most of his targets were on Justin Blackmon, a receiver that had 111 receptions for 1,782 yards and 20 touchdowns. Big things are expected of the two this season, with Blackmon having 15/1 odds to win the Heisman Trophy, while Weeden has 32/1 odds to win the award. The OSU defense has five starters back, but will need to improve from last season, as the Cowboys allowed over 400 yards per game.
Oklahoma State has won nine games in the last three seasons under Gundy. This season, the Cowboys will host Arizona and head to Tulsa in non-conference play. Big 12 action sees Oklahoma State traveling to Texas A&M, Texas, and Missouri while hosting the likes of Oklahoma.
When it comes to the spread, Oklahoma State was 10-3 against the spread in 2010. It was the fifth-straight season that the Cowboys were .500 or better against the spread. Oklahoma State was a perfect 5-0 against the spread on the road in 2010. For the over/under, the Cowboys hit the over in 8 of their 13 games in 2010, including 7 of their 8 home games.
