TCU Game Notes
TCU’s offense is elite because of its balance. They have a terrific quarterback in Max Duggan who’s fifth in the nation with a passer rating of 181.8. He’s averaging 9.7 yards per pass attempt and has a sparkling touchdown pass-to-interception ratio of 19-1. Duggan is tenth in the nation with a QBR of 85.5.
The Horned Frogs average 6.1 yards per rushing attempt, the third-best mark in the country. They have two star running backs in Kendre Miller and Emari Demercado. Kendre Miller has rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown in four of TCU’s last five games. Emari Demercado is averaging 6.6 yards per carry, which ranks second in the Big 12. The Horned Frogs should be able to run on a West Virginia defense that is 51st in the country in rushing yards allowed per attempt.
West Virginia Game Notes
The Mountaineers’ offense is at its best when it’s balanced. West Virginia has a pair of running backs that have 400+ rushing yards and 5+ rushing touchdowns on the season in Tony Mathis Jr. and CJ Donaldson. Both players are averaging 5+ yards per carry. The problems have arisen when West Virginia’s defense allows multiple first-half touchdowns, putting the Mountaineers behind the eight ball and forcing them to throw.
West Virginia quarterback JT Daniels was a five-star prospect coming out of high school in southern California. He signed with USC out of high school, transferred to Georgia, lost the starting job to Stetson Bennett there, and wound up at West Virginia. It seems like Daniels will never fulfill his first-round NFL talent promise, but he may still have a few more good games left in him. West Virginia shouldn’t lean on Daniels though as he’s only thrown multiple touchdowns in a game twice this season, and he’s only thrown for 300+ yards once. He’ll likely have a chance to air it out against a TCU defense allowing 7.5 yards per pass attempt, which ranks 82nd in the country.

TCU vs. West Virginia Betting Prediction
In case there was any doubt, TCU’s 38-28 win over Kansas State on Saturday showed that the Horned Frogs are the class of the Big 12. Their offense is extremely potent as the Horned Frogs rank in the top six nationally in yards per play (7.0), points per game (42.3), points per play (0.589), and offensive touchdowns per game (5.5). I think TCU’s dynamic and balanced offense will be too much for a West Virginia defense that’s allowing 6.3 yards per play. That mark ranks 114th out of 131 FBS teams. I like the Horned Frogs to roll in Morgantown on Saturday.
