Texas A&M Aggies Game Notes
Texas senior QB Kellen Mond completed 11-of-34 passes for 105 yards in a 20-7 win on Saturday over LSU. This was ugly. Mond and JT Finley were both awful on Saturday, but the difference was the senior was able to avoid turnovers. One of the reasons for that might have been he was too inaccurate to throw interceptions, but, they were avoided nevertheless. Mond was accepted to the Senior Bowl, but the 6-foot-3, 217-pound quarterback still has too many fits of inaccuracy to suggest he’s anything more than a developmental draft pick at this point. Having said that, he does have Texas A&M sitting at 6-1, and they can move to 7-1 next Saturday with a win over Auburn.
Auburn Tigers Game Notes
Auburn sophomore RB D.J. Williams (lower body) will not play Saturday against Texas A&M. Williams (5’10/210) was injured during Saturday’s loss at Alabama, and has not practiced all week. With the sophomore struggling with this health issue, the Tigers could potentially be down two running back for the matchup with Texas A&M. In addition to Williams’ injury, freshman Tank Bigsby is considered to be day-to-day as he continues to recover from a lingering hip injury. Bigsby has practiced on a limited basis this week which bodes well for his availability on Saturday.
