Texas A&M Aggies Game Notes
Texas A&M senior QB Kellen Mond completed 21-of-26 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 42-31 win over Arkansas. Week-to-week consistency is not really the name of the game for Mond, but every now and then, he hits a monstrous week, much like he did against Florida early in the season. Mond was close to flawless in this one, missing on just five passes. His accuracy was as good as it has looked all year, which helps when playing against an Arkansas defense that has proven itself somewhat exploitable. Mond will have a tougher opponent ahead of him next week in South Carolina.
South Carolina Gamecocks Game Notes
South Carolina redshirt senior QB Collin Hill completed 12-of-22 passes for 234 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a 52-24 loss to LSU on Saturday. Hill’s touchdown was a garbage time throw to Josh Vann that still had the Gamecocks trailing 52-24. The former Colorado State signal-caller was mostly ineffective on Saturday against a defense that had made quarterbacks look, well, effective coming into Saturday night. Hill (6’5/214) will need to play better if the Gamecocks are going to compete with teams of this talent. His next chance to do so will come after a bye against Texas A&M on November 7.
