Texas A&M Season Odds
COLLEGE STATION, TX (TheSpread) – The Texas A&M Aggies have been on a downward trend in the three years under Kevin Sumlin. Will that continue in 2015?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Texas A&M is currently listed with 40/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs this upcoming season. The Aggies are getting odds of +2000 to win the SEC Championship, while their over/under total for wins is listed at 8.
Sumlin is coming into his fourth year as head coach. The Aggies were 11-2 overall and 6-2 in the SEC in his 2012 debut season. The Aggies then were 9-4 in 2013 with a 4-4 SEC mark in 2013. Last year, A&M went 8-5 on the year and 3-5 in the SEC. Texas A&M finished sixth in the SEC West.
A&M had a strong offense in the 2014 season, as the team average 35.2 points and 455.4 yards per game. The Aggies had the 12th-ranked passing offense, as they posted 305.5 yards per contest. However, the Aggies’ defense struggled, allowing 28.1 points per contest. The Aggies also return six of their top seven receivers from 2014 and two of their top three rushers.
A&M opens the season with a big challenge, facing Arizona State in Houston before hosting Ball State and Nevada in non-conference play. The Aggies also meet Western Carolina later in the year. SEC play features home games with Mississippi State, Alabama, South Carolina and Auburn while hitting the road to face Arkansas (in Arlington, Texas), Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and LSU. If the Aggies stay healthy, A&M could be a very tough team to beat. It gets a crack at Alabama early and at home, which should set the tone for how its season will go.
