Oklahoma looking impressive
The Sooners had an off week last weekend, but they picked up a 48-14 win at UCLA prior to that. Oklahoma is off to a 3-0 start on the season. The Sooners are 2-1 against the spread and 1-1-1 with the over/under total.
Oklahoma is dominant on offense this year. The Sooners are putting up 55.7 points and 676.7 yards per game while allowing just 19.7 points and 352.7 yards per outing. Jalen Hurts has been off to a great start with his new team. He has thrown for 880 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 373 yards and four scores. Charleston Rambo is the leading receiver with 11 catches for 251 yards and four touchdowns while Trey Sermon has rushed for 198 yards and a touchdown.
Tech hits a speed bump
Texas Tech suffered its first loss of the season two weeks ago at Arizona, 28-14. The Red Raiders are 2-1 on the year, 2-1 against the spread and have hit the under in all three games this year.
The Red Raiders haven’t quite been the same offense we have grown accustomed to. They are averaging 32.3 points and 508.7 yards per game thus far. Defensively, Texas Tech is allowing 13.7 points and 306.3 yards per game. The offense has taken a big blow as QB Alan Bowman has a shoulder injury that has him out until mid-November. He has thrown for 1,020 yards and six touchdowns. Tech is expected to go with both Jett Duffey and Jackson Tyner against Oklahoma. T.J. Vasher is the team’s leading receiver with 18 catches for 246 yards and two touchdowns. Armand Shyne is the leading rusher with 238 yards and two touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma
The Sooners are 6-1-1 with the over in their last eight home games and 12-3-1 with the over in their last 16 games on grass.
Texas Tech
The Red Raiders have hit the under in five straight games overall and in four of their last five road games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in seven of their last eight meetings, but the Red Raiders aren’t the same offensive team they have been in the past and I think that will be the big factor in this game. While I could Oklahoma pushing for near 50 points, I think the Red Raiders are going to struggle to find enough points for the total to get to 72. They only put up 14 against a bad Arizona defense on the road last week and now have to face an Oklahoma team that has looked improved on defense this year.
