Texas Tech Red Raiders Game Notes
Donovan Smith announced he will transfer to Houston this coming season, Sam Khan of The Athletic reports. Smith will head to Houston after spending the first three seasons of his collegiate career with Texas Tech. The 6-foot-5 dual-threat quarterback saw significant playing time over the first five games of the 2022 regular season, completing 142 of his 213 passes for 1,475 yards and an 11:7 TD:INT ratio to go along with 67 carries for 93 yards and four more scores. However, this came in a platoon approach at quarterback for the Red Raiders, and Smith largely fell out of this rotation over the final seven games of the season. He should have two remaining seasons of collegiate eligibility.
Ole Miss Rebels Game Notes
Jaxson Dart completed 30-of-38 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns Thursday against Mississippi State. Dart’s first season at Ole Miss was moderately successful, as he passed for 2,613 yards and 18 touchdowns, while also rushing for 548 yards on the ground. He did throw eight picks, though, while completing just 62.6-percent of his throws. The USC transfer awaits a bowl game for the Rebels.
